03 Oct, 2024Would leave NO STARS but it doesn’t let me. This is a part 2 from my other review but it only let me write so much. She takes us to another room after we already told her we didn’t feel safe and especially now we’ve just told her we had issues with the room. We’re tourists, people like to thing we’re dumb because we’ve not been before. She took us to the other room again everywhere smelt and the floors had little drops of liquid all over. We just feel like we should have at least got something back as they got all that money for us to walk into the room for us to booked another hotel. It had a sign that we noticed when we was leaving on the front desk that said 1 hour $50 cash and so on. Now what would you need a room for an hour for? Pretty shady. Anyway if anyone is look for a good hotel we stayed at the pod Times Square! The staff were friendly, room was very clean. Quiet and the view was beautiful.

23 Nov, 2024We checked in late and there was no room available. The front desk called to see if the room was clean and told us it was. We went upstairs and the cleaning staff was still in there. When we went into the room the floor was sticky and disgusting, the shower was FILTHY it looks like it is never cleaned. We get moved to another room with a door adjoining the room next door, we tell the front desk we do not feel comfortable and he says he will move us to another room. I will never stay here again. EVER.

25 Sep, 2024Beware of thieves. I am not the only person mentioning it. I left an expensive item in the room, and call just a few hours after my checkout, and the receptionist told me there is no way for me to get it back. When I asked to speak to a manager they said he was not available, when I asked for her name she refused to provide. Very shady. I paid an exorbitant amount of $280 because the UN Convention was happening in NYC and my other hotel was sold out for the day. I checked in at 3am, and checked out the next day. I regret staying there, because of the dishonesty of the staff. I have no doubt that the person on the phone knew of the item, and that it was stolen, An establishment is truly beyond grace and redemption when they don't even care about their reputation anymore. If you see below a few people mentioned theft. I wanted to leave my number for the manager, but the woman just hung up on me, and I would be extremely surprised if the manager or owners of this place followed up due to the extremely shade staff...... Common thieves on property. Consider yourself warned, and Stay at your own risk.

29 Sep, 2024Mostly everything. The place was super dodgy. We could not feel any less safe in NYC. The whole place smelled of marihuana - corridors, our room, even our clothes. Of course, we read after we made our reservation that the facility was free of smoking, but we did not accept that we were living in the ashtray. We stayed there for 5 nights and every single night next to our room was some "couple" who would make love all night long. It sounds more like a hotel for hours and paid escort, than a couple in love who wanted to express their feelings to each other. The real problem with that is that our room has doors between the rooms, so you cannot keep the smell and noises isolated. I had to give my credit card to the employee of the hotel together with a pin (card code) so he could charge us. Why? Because the machine was on the cable and the cable was too short I could not cross the front desk area to put the pin by myself. We also had some extra locators - meaning cockroaches. The area is also not so friendly for tourists, especially after dark. Me and my partner are traveling a lot. We were staying at many places and I could easily write that we are easygoing people. Not many things and places can scare or disgust us. This place certainly did that. I never wrote any bad reviews at any facility. That is the first one, so you can imagine how bad it was. I do not recommend staying in the MOCA HOTEL. For me, that place is running on for some bad reasons. The prices are low, but not that low. For sure you can book a better and safer place in the city for a similar budget. We were both surprised that you can find a place like this on booking.

22 Oct, 2024Booked the hotel for two nights. When we got to our room there was a bunch of hair on the bathroom floor, asked to change room twice before we found something that was somewhat decent. We ended up staying only one night and change hotel for the second night in New York. The photos are totally deceiving and the rooms are totally not worth the money we used.
