02 Dec, 2024We had recently visited New York and chose to stay at the Hilton New York Times Square. Our great experience started upon check in with Stephanie at the front desk. She was very helpful and friendly and made the entire experience even better. She was kind to give us the corner room on a high floor with exceptional view of Empire state build. Hotel is centrally located and is walking distance from Times Square and Bryant Park. Stephanie once again came to the rescue to store our luggage đŒ and complimentary passes were issued for some luggage (we had plenty đ). Special shout out to Micheal from the concierge team for all his help with the bags and taxi to the airport. Overall it is a excellent stay and highly recommend.

06 Dec, 2024Solid hotel in the city! I'd realistically give this hotel 4 stars but I had to up it to 5 stars simply due to the service and attitude of SERITO the security guard! Yes, no joke. This guy will go out of his way to make your stay here enjoyable and it ain't even his job. I hope management knows how outstanding of a guy they got representing the hotel/brand. In fact, the whole staff here is great, rooms are very spacious for NYC, bathrooms could use some updating but overall a great place to stay!

02 Dec, 2024Location was nice, in the heart of Time Square. Room was meh. Outdated and lacked decor, bathroom gave me a motel feel, not what I usually expect with Hilton and for the price I paid. I wish I could give the service half a star, and thatâs only because one of the doormen (older man with pony tail) was pleasant. Other than that they get NO STARS from me. Valet service is a RIP OFF!!! I checked my car in and went about my stay, I checked out on the app and went to give the doorman my ticket to retrieve my car. He rudely said âthey didnât tell you that you had to request the car an hour and a half in advance?! They were supposed to tell youâ. That made me feel extremely awkward, but I proceeded to inform him that no one told me that (because indeed, no one did). I politely asked my options and he informed me I could either go to the front desk and request my car and wait an hour and a half or I could go to the front desk and âtell them youâll get it yourselfâ. I could not wait the hour and a half so I had no choice but to tell them I would retrieve my car myself. When I went to the front desk to tell them I would retrieve my car myself, I expressed to the lady that this was an inconvenience for me because I had my luggage and young children and she said âIâm sorry, itâs only a five minute walkâ. Ultimately I paid $95 for a valet service in which I had to walk several blocks to retrieve my car myself. If possible take your business elsewhere. This hotel is not worth it.

20 Oct, 2024TL;DR: Extremely poor hygiene, abysmal service. If youâre looking to pay over $450 for a motel-level experience, this is your place. I stayed here for five nights, and Iâve never had such a mind-blowing experienceâfor all the wrong reasons. As someone whoâs traveled extensively (Hilton Diamond Member, previously Marriott Titanium), this hotel was truly shocking. - Hygiene: The roomâs cleanliness is a disaster. Opening the bed felt like unwrapping a mystery boxâyou never knew what kind of unpleasant surprise awaited you on the sheets when you returned. Iâve attached photos, but be warnedâtheyâre not pretty. - Service: In line with other reviews, getting in touch with the front desk is like trying to win a lottery. I had to call at least three times for anyone to even pick up. Forget about using guest servicesâitâs useless. When I discovered the âsurpriseâ on my sheets, they informed me that housekeeping had gone home, and Iâd need to change the sheets myself. It took four attempts before they finally brought a clean setâand even then, there was still a small piece of black wool stuck to it. By that point, I was too exhausted to care. - Dishonesty: The staff will lie straight to your face. When I requested a late checkout (a standard benefit for high-tier members), I was told Iâd have to pay extra. After I mentioned I was a Diamond member, their story changedâthey were suddenly "fully booked," and my room would be needed. The switch-up was unbelievable. - Ridiculous fees: This is the first hotel Iâve ever stayed at that charges a $20 fee (plus gratuities) just to check your bags. I visit NYC regularly and have never encountered anything like this, even at other Hilton properties. - Maintenance issues: One night, the toilet broke and wouldnât stop running. I waited over an hour for someone to show up and fix it. The few positives: - The room itself was more spacious than other nearby hotels. To get a room this size elsewhere, Iâd likely have paid at least $200 more. - The location is convenientâclose to the subway and plenty of dining options. - Despite the chaos, the hotel was surprisingly quiet. Iâve stayed in other properties in the area where street noise was unbearable, but here it was quite tolerable. In summary, while the location and space are commendable, the severe hygiene and service issues make this hotel an absolute no-go for me. I can't recommend it, especially at this price point.

05 Dec, 2024Upon arrival we checked in at the front desk only to be informed of a $100 a night security deposit which we had no prior knowledge of when we booked the hotel, as we stayed for 5 nights this was $500, which is a lot of money especially when it has to come out of savings that I actually needed for the trip. On top of this, we were told that out of that $100, $35 was non refundable credit that we could use at the hotel shop or bar, so even though I didnât intend on spending any money at the hotel, I was forced to either spend this $35 or lose it entirely. I wasnât extremely upset about this until I went to spend the money in the hotel shop on the first day to realise how ridiculously priced it was, $13 for a bottle of water, $15 dollars for a bar of chocolate, $19 for a bag of chocolate covered almonds. All of which you could buy from the target across the road for a fraction of the price. I just felt really scammed out of what added up to be $175 over my 5 day stay. The bar is also ridiculously expensive, for any two drinks the total always added up to more than $35, meaning you were paying over and getting less of the refundable security deposit back. The location is great however and we felt really centralised with the main things we wanted to see. When we came to check out, we needed our luggage storing at the hotel, which they charged us for⊠I have never had to pay to store my luggage before but this was a first. After paying the bell man who stored our luggage $10 for two suitcases, he asked us not once but twice if we would like to tip, which we politely declined to do⊠it gets even better, on the receipt we were given for the payment, it says âluggage storage fee is a gratuityâ. So we were charged a mandatory âtipâ to the bell man who stored our luggage, who asked us if we would like to tip him more on top of his tip. You canât make it up. Generally felt really scammed by the hotel throughout the whole stay, keep this in mind if booking.
